Chair Massage

This service is only available at a Package Rate for Events or Private Parties. Rates are hourly and require a 2-hour minimum guarantee. Please contact me for further details.

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule. 

Infant Massage Classes

Infant Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically to promote the healthy development of your infant. Caring human touch is crucial for a healthy thriving baby, and the benefits of massaging your infant are potent and numerous. For example, research studies have shown that many infants show improved growth and development of the brain and nervous system after being massaged. Infant massage has also been shown to improve the quality of a baby's sleep, as well as strengthening their immune system. As a Certified Infant Massage Instructor I will be teaching you, the parent, the techniques for massaging your own child. This service is offered as a group or individual workshop. Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Physician Medical Release is required before beginning the first Pregnancy Massage session.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese method of energy healing work, developed by Buddhist Mikao Usui. It is Universal Life Force Energy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei, which means “Universal” and Ki, which is “ Life force energy.” Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy”. Reiki is a form of spiritual practice that is used as a complementary therapy, proposed for the treatment of physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments. It seeks to harmonize the energies that flow and connect all living things. 

The goal of a Reiki session is to create balance and harmony in the recipient which in turn promotes healing.  As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. There will be consultation time built into your session both before and after the treatment. In your session, you will lie on a warm table, fully clothed and covered by a blanket. During most of the session I will have my hands hovering above the body, I will place my hands on your head, shoulders and feet only, to facilitate channeling Reiki through your whole body. The sensations experienced during a Reiki session vary from person to person, however, most have reported having the feeling of peace, warmth and relaxation afterwards. The time and price listed above are averages, depending on the person and their needs these may vary.

Custom Massage

Custom massage sessions may incorporate a combination of therapeutic techniques including but not limited to: Swedish massage, deep tissue, myofascial release, Tui Na (Asian body work), trigger point therapy, aromatherapy, reflexology, etc. 

The treatment is developed and totally individualized to the client and their needs. These combinations are used to tailor the massage towards your personal preferences and specific needs. This blend of techniques should relieve stress and tension in your body, and provide pain relief if needed. I will likely ask you which parts of the body you’d like to focus on – it’s totally fine to choose an overall body massage.

This session will include a consultation time prior to and after the session. Price and time limit will be discussed and agreed upon during the pre-session consultation.

Private Parties

Massage Parties, Reiki Parties, and Reflexology Parties! with Karen. (additional Massage Therapists available)

*Parties take place at the approved location of your choice or a designated space of my choice at additional charge.

*Traveling charges for distances beyond 10 miles apply.

*Party rates start at $150 per hour, with a 2 hour minimum, and are subject to change dependent on type of party and number of therapists required, travel and other customized factors.
